Alaina discovered yoga in school, where she fell in love with the beautiful challenge of finding strength, stability, and surrender in each pose. She pursued her passion through college, completing her 200-hour teacher training with Yoga Works in 2007. The following year, Alaina traveled to Colorado for the 2008 Yoga Journal Conference and studied under a variety of internationally respected instructors including Seane Corn and Shiva Rea. Recently in March of 2010, she journeyed to the birthplace of yoga: India. There she continued her education with the completion of her 300-hour certification with Sattva Yoga in Rishikesh, a holy city at the foot of the Himalayan Mountains.
Teaching in both gym and studio settings, Alaina believes that yoga is all about love. By cultivating awareness of the body and mind she feels that yoga is a powerful path to understanding the truest nature of the self: love. She aspires to guide students toward a greater understanding of themselves through dynamic practices designed to foster both physical and mental awareness and balance. Through dedication and exploration she knows that yoga can change lives. In addition to yoga, Alaina enjoys running as a form of moving meditation, and has completed several half marathons.
