Things we like!
Resources for a more beautiful life.. As part of our quest to create community through the sharing of ideas, health, art and whatever moves us, we offer you this page of our website - THINGS WE LIKE! We asked the entire Twist Yoga staff to share "things" that make them smile, make their life easier, or brighten up their day. These are things we like to do or places we go that we think you might like too. Have fun!!
Websites:
- Sites Molly visits daily:
elephantjournal.com & yogadork.com - She says they're funny and insightful, different points of view about yoga and spiritual practice. Michele's fave is elephant journal, too!

Things to do:
-
Belly dance class with Audrey LaRue at Mountlake Terrace Pavilion. "She's beautiful, gracious, and plays great music. Dancing feeds my soul." - Alison E, front desk.
- Another belly dance recommendation:
Deep Roots Dance! deeprootsdance.com - "My love of yoga matches my love of bellydance. Shay Moore is one of the best teachers around, I study with her every week." - Molly, teacher.
-
Olympus Spa came up on at least 5 yogis' lists. According to Alison, "It's spiritual, relaxing, and anonymous. I love to celebrate my birthday there for a couple hours of solo reflection." Adds Heather, "This is where I go to really unwind and decompress from everything that falls into my lap on a daily basis or gets stacked up on my plate. They have everything a spa could, and should, have and more. Heated elemental rooms, hot tubs, steam room, sauna, treatments of every kind, and my favorite a full body (and I do mean full body) scrub that leaves your skin feeling like a babies toosh. It really is a magical place and only for women, sorry guys."
-
Southwest County Park, just a few miles from Downtown Edmonds. You can take a real hike without driving to the mountains. This place inspires sanity.
- The roof of the
Edmonds library for some outdoor, unexpectedly peaceful yoga
- Alison S. loves Main Street's
Edmonds Theater and their free popcorn for kiddies
- Brielle loves Ecstatic Dance Sunday mornings at
Dance Underground on Capitol Hill
Coffee:
-
Walnut Street Coffee. Just up the street from Twist Yoga, this little gem is a locally owned, hip & happenin' spot for really good coffee. "The 'Nut", as it's known, made the top 10 lists of at least 6 of our staff. According to Heather, "I love that they feature local artists whose work is always unique and fun to admire. The owners are locals (Jen's sorority sister!) and have really done a great job of bringing the community together."
-
Cafe Ladro - Great coffee; a quiet place to write or read
-
Tully's, Downtown Edmonds. Says Aprille, front desk: "BEST for green tea, coffee and wonderful camaraderie (wonderful staff, family friendly, always remember you!)"
Places to eat/drink:
- Just across the street from Twist Yoga,
Red Twig is the perfect place for a post-yoga cup of tea or brunch. Heather says, "They make the absolute best salmon eggs benedict I have ever had and a darn good cappuccino too."
- Many a Twist Yogi's top pick is
Demetris for really good food, made really well. Yvette loves their weet potato fries and the fig & olive spread. Aprille swears by their thoughtful, healthy vegetarian food that tastes amazing.
-
The Winged Pig: "For a comfortable, unpretentious place to have a decent, well-priced, glass of wine." -Jen
-
Casa Azul on 145th near Richmond Beach. Super quaint and authentic. They also have 25 different types of tequilla. Try the squid!" - Donna, Front desk.
-
Girardi's - "A delicious and economically fun happy hour," - Alison, yogi.
- Upstairs (or the heated courtyard!) at
The Loft for the downtown Seattle feeling without the commute. - Alison.
-
Hosoonyi, a Korean joint on Hwy 99 in Edmonds. (According to Brielle, "There is also an awesome massage spot in that complex. Get a foot massage and treat yourself to a bowl of Kimchi, Life is good!")
-
Hills Neighborhood Restaurant. In Shoreline. Richmond Beach is pretty much an off-leash dog park this time of year, so take the pups and try the nachos!
Places to shop:
- Edmonds
PCC (top on many Twist Yogis' lists!) for the most knowledgeable staff who are willing to guide you and for having the best collection of high quality ingredients to eat GREAT! (And Jen says....) The best Kale Caesar Salad ever!
- It's a trek from Edmonds, but the
Ballard Farmer's Market. Year-round amazing food.

Terri's Toybox in downtown Edmonds: "Eco friendly w award winning toys....love that they wrap up a present for you in a sweetly decorated brown bag w tissue and ribbon. So pretty!" - Yvette, yogi.
- Heather swears by the hip fashion on Main Street's
Crimson & Clover, and
C'est La Vie, just up the street from Twist Yoga. "C'Est La Vie has a great selection of gifts and a variety of merchandise. I always find something in there that speaks to the yogi in me and even if I walk out with nothing I feel like my inner artist has been fed."
